Freshwater is a very popular village situated in the West Wight which is where you can visit my shop ARTFRAMES in the shopping centre in the Village to purchase your Photographic prints for a lovely reminder of your visit.
With its south facing aspect and sheltered cove it is a very popular tourist destination for the young and the older generation.
It boasts its own Golf course with spectacular views spanning the Solent.
Dimbola Lodge the residence of the late Julia Margaret Cameron (11 June 1815 – 26 January 1879) who was a British photographer. She became known for her portraits of celebrities of the time. Dimbola Lodge is frequently visited by many famous personalities that include Madonna and Charlton Heston.
Poet Laureate Alfred Lord Tennyson moved to Freshwater with his wife, Emily in 1853 and spent many a happy forty years living at Farringford, which is only 2 mins from the beach.
Freshwater itself was the birthplace of physicist, philosopher, architect, polymath and curator of experiments of the Royal Society, Robert Hooke, (18 July 1635)
Guest House Paradiso which was released in 1999 and stars Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson was filmed in and around Freshwater Bay.
For a challenging walk you are able to walk from Freshwater Bay up Tennyson Downs toward the Tennyson monument, which by the way is a great resting place, so do not forget your goodies.

We then carry onward towards the Famous Needles where Guglieimo Marconi carried out many of his early tests with
the wireless telegraph.
Alum Bay is the home of the amusement park and Isle of Wight Glass, multi-coloured sand can also be found in the cliff faces which give off many colours during sunrise and sunset.
